You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self…and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. —Ephesians 4:22
You might actually be better at living a life other than the life you’ve been living. Ask Jack McKeon.
McKeon was the General Manager of the San Diego Padres back in 1981. “At the end of Spring Training, we would play San Diego State at Qualcomm Stadium before the regular season opened. I was sitting in the box with the San Diego State Athletic Director, and this guy goes up and it’s boom, a double off Juan Eichelberger. Next time up, it's boom, a triple off Steve Mura. I am watching this guy hit line drives all over the ballpark. He is running the bases like he has eyes in the back of his head. I asked the AD, "Who is this guy? I watched this team a lot before I went to Spring Training. I don't remember seeing him." He told he was a basketball player, and the basketball season just ended, so he had joined the baseball team five days earlier."
So, 26 years, 3,241 hits, 1,138 RBI’s, 8 Batting Titles, 5 Gold Gloves, 15 All-Star Games and a lifetime .338 batting average later...basketball player Tony Gwynn was a first-ballot inductee into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
